Tanker 8
Sun. Jan 3rd 2010

This week Capt. McKenzie and Chief Engineer Porter will be traveling to Alexis, IL to do a final inspection on the new Tanker 8 with delivery to follow.  The truck was purchased as a package with a Sutphen SL75 ladder truck which we should also be taking delivery of in the early spring.  The new Alexis Tanker will be replacing a Mack tanker that has been in service since the early 1990's and was built by the members our department.  The new tanker will have a 500gpm PTO pump and a 3000gal elliptical tank with rear dump valve.  It is also equipped with NFPA lighting package.  It has two compartments that will allow this unit to carry a small complement of firefighting hand tools and Air Packs.
